Alex Barfield is a certified mediator and a partner at Stanton Law, LLC. Alex has litigated in Georgia and the Atlanta community for 20 years. Before coming to Stanton Law, he was a partner at Hawkins, Parnell & Young LLP. Alex is experienced in employment law and commercial disputes, and has decades of experience with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Alex also has significant experience with commercial contract disputes, including restrictive covenant matters, and state law personal injury disputes.
Alex obtained his law degree at The University of Georgia, where he also obtained an M.B.A from the Terry College of Business. While at UGA, Alex interned at Weathers & McDaniel in Moultrie, Georgia and with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia and California.
Alex lives in Peachtree Corners with his wife, Kasi Whitaker, a worker’s compensation attorney, and their two children. They are members of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Buckhead where Alex co-captains an usher team and teaches Sunday School and various Bible studies. When not mediating or practicing law, Alex enjoys attending Atlanta Hawks and Georgia Bulldogs games with his family.
